After “The Wolf of Wall Street” release, DiCaprio admitted in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that he had never done drugs in his life. According to Leo, he grew up in a poor neighborhood and saw what drugs did to people. That’s why he was never tempted to try them. For a role in “The Wolf of Wall Street,” he consulted drug experts to make the scenes look believable.

During the shooting of “Blood Diamond,” DiCaprio worked with 24 kids from the orphanage in Maputo, Mozambique. He was so touched by interacting with these children that even after leaving the country, he kept in touch with one of them. He sends her money every month and calls regularly.
