Movies.com has recently unveiled the 35 Greatest Moments in Movie Sex. Personally, I’m glad that the site decided to go with such an odd number. No top 10, 20, or even 50 here! Maybe that’s just how it honestly worked out, though. My favorite is definitely the entry for 1930 – “Bombshell” becomes a dirty word.
OK, so maybe this list isn’t that steamy at all.
After a few years of being in the proverbial Hollywood pipeline, The Weinstein Co. has green lighted a film adaptation of Gregory McDonald’s Fletch Won to be written and directed by Bill Lawrence with Zach Braff in the title role. Prior to this, Kevin Smith had been entertaining the notion of doing the exact same thing, but it never came to fruition.
Personally, I’m glad to see this thing finally in the full-on go mode. Having read a number of the Fletch books and being a fan, I can safely say that the first Fletch was fucked around with so much that it barely resembled the book at the end. Of course, Fletch Lives was not even based on any of the books and managed to do even more disservice to the whole series. Lawrence and Braff promise to keep Fletch Won edgier, which is exactly what the other flicks needed. Fletch was not a slaspstick, pie-in-the-face story, but that’s what it became. The novels are filled with dry humor and always have a real sense of suspense in them. They’re hard to put down.
Unlike Chevy Chase…who really doesn’t need any more space wasted on him from me.
Score one for the fans and one for the lowly music business who keeps good shit from flowing through. The State, MTV’s sketch comedy which featured the likes of Michael Ian Black, Thomas Lennon, Keri Kinney, and Ben Garant will finally be available either on DVD or iTunes later this year.
What was keeping it from being released all this time? The music used in the episodes, of course!
“They just rescored and we’re all doing ADR,” Garrant continued.
“The thing that was preventing it was the music clearances,” Lennon explained, “because at the time, MTV had a deal that anything with a video you could just use. No longer the deal.”
“All our sketches that were built around a Breeders or a Lenny Kravitz song, which was a lot of them,” said Garrant, “so we had to rescore everything, but finally, MTV put up the money to rescore it, and I guess it’s coming out.”
How generous of MTV! They’ll easily make all their money back on this one. Blah…gotta love legalities.
Peter Cook is sorry and is gradually working up to the levels of Botox enjoyed by his wife.
Here’s a tissue for your issue, pal. Peter Cook, the big famous architect who got famous for marrying Christie Brinkley has announced that he’s sorry for a fling he had 10 years ago with a 19 year old girl. Yeah OK, so according to this story, a month after he broke it off with this girl, he got engaged to Brinkley. No harm, no foul, people! Consider it as the dude just having his last jollies before locking up the bait and tackle until he got divorced. Pshaw, this happens all the time…
Anyway, Cook sez:
“I love my wife. I have loved her since the day I met her. Please … I love her,” Cook told New York Post columnist Cindy Adams via his lawyer, Norman Sheresky. “For a lifetime, I’ve tried to prove how much I love her. This is an aberration. I’m sorry. I’m contrite. I’m stupid. Foolish. No excuse.”
Are you really sorry, Peter? Or are you just worried that Chuck Norris is gonna take your baby away for good and you’ll be forgotten again? Oh, to not have a public spotlight to constantly live within. That must suck.
Know this woman? If you read FHM or watch G4 or are any sort of video game fanboy like myself, then you do. If not, this is Morgan Webb. Now, I’m used to seeing Morgan in her long haired innocent sex kitten glory on G4’s game review show X-Play (along with the always groovy Adam Sessler). So it was a surprise to me when I was doing searches for Ms. Webb when I stumbled upon these wholesome older photos of her. Excuse my ignorance, kids, but I wasn’t aware she had done so much work for the Tech TV channel (when there was such a thing) on their Screen Savers show, which does still appear on G4. Indeed, Morgan has gone through a bevy of different hairstyles, all of which can be peeped on the exhaustive Morgan’s Hair website.
