Drop everything and watch this

Whatever you are doing right now, it can’t possibly be as important as your need to view what is undoubtedly the finest half-hour television series starring Owen Wilson as a talking motorcycle ever made: “Heat Vision and Jack,” a Fox pilot from 1999 that never made it to air.

Oh, and as if the talking-motorcycle angle weren’t enough to recommend it, the series was directed and executive produced by Ben Stiller, features a theme song by Tom Jones (covering Yaz, no less), and stars Jack Black as an astronaut whose close encounter with the sun caused his brain to expand like cookie dough, making him the world’s smartest man (but only when the sun is up, in sort of a reverse-vampire twist).

Still not convinced? Okay, how about this: the episode also features the late Vincent Schiavelli as an alien life form with hilariously low-tech glowing eyes, stars Ron Silver as a cold-blooded-killer version of himself, and even manages to sneak in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it visual reference to Superman II.

YouTube will undoubtedly be barraged with cease-and-desist orders from Fox momentarily, even though Fox couldn’t be bothered to broadcast the pilot episode even one time on its own airwaves…so watch it now, while you still can.

Admit it: You really don’t have anything better to do for the next twenty-two minutes, so just give in to temptation. You’ll be glad you did.

Cleveland: It’s the new New York

In the latest example of studio penny-pinching, exterior scenes for the latest “Spiderman” sequel, which is set in New York as usual, will be shot in the thriving metropolis of…Cleveland, Ohio. Digital imagery will be used to Biggie-Size downtown Cleveland’s somewhat-smaller-than-Manhattan-style skyscrapers in order to fool everyone who has been to neither New York nor Cleveland into believing that Spidey and the gang are still shaking things up in the Big Apple.

No word yet on whether villains Venom (Topher Grace) and Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) will put on an evil death metal concert spectacular at the “New York” Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for the film’s big finale.

Everybody was kung fu fighting…on Broadway

A night on the Great White Way just isn’t complete without Bruce Lee sending a flying kick into some poor schmuck’s mouth while “China Girl” plays in the background. Fortunately, that oversight is about to be addressed, with the upcoming release of a musical based on the life of Bruce Lee, featuring music by David Bowie.

And, as if that weren’t enough to send legions of martial-arts-musical fans slobbering off to Hot Tix, the Brothers Weinstein are planning their own kung fu spectacle, a musical version of “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.” Is Broadway big enough for two feuding bands of martial arts warriors? Only time will tell, but when it comes to brawling, the smart money is always on the (ex-) Miramax Mafia.

Should both of these epics prove successful, expect a host of copycat kung fu musicals to follow. Rumor has it that Marc Shaiman (“Hairspray,” “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut”) is already fleshing out tunes with Quentin Tarantino for “Kill Bill: The Musical,” and Ralph Macchio has indicated his availability to star in “Singin’ in the Dojo: A Karate Kid on Broadway.”

Spike Lee eats Urkel

Former child star Jaleel White, who played uberdweeb Steve Urkel on TV’s “Family Matters” for eight years, appears to have been eaten by polarizing filmmaker Spike Lee:

It is unclear whether White, whose whereabouts have been unknown ever since we failed to look for them, and the iconoclastic director had an ongoing feud, or whether Lee simply devoured the young actor in an effort to “keep it real” by feeding on the next generation of African-American talent.

It’s still early in the year for Lee to be embarking upon the legendary Clooney/De Niro “Eating for Oscars” diet (which hasn’t been proven to work for directors, anyway), but it is possible the maverick auteur was looking to get an extra head start on influencing the Academy, based on positive reviews of his latest film, “Inside Man.” Asked to comment on the controversy, Lee simply squealed “Did I do that?” in an annoyingly nasal, high-pitched voice, pulled his high-water pants well above his natural waistline, and walked away.

Donna Martin graduates…to become skeezy tattoo model

Nothing says true love like a painstakingly rendered, full-tricep tattoo of your intended, staring vacantly in a black bra and turning your elbow into her tight little abs. Quintessential Daddy’s Girl (and erstwhile “90210” virgin) Tori Spelling, then, has finally found true love with unknown actor Dean McDermott, per the photo below:

Ahhh, don’t it just make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Birds sing, spring flowers creep slowly up out of the ground…and Donna Martin has finally gotten over David Silver’s nasty betrayal in the back seat of that limo. As everyone knows, Hollywood love lasts forever…much longer than any tattoo.

Except, perhaps, Angelina Jolie’s “Billy Bob” tattoo. And Roseanne and Tom Arnold’s Roseanne and Tom tattoos. Oh, and Johnny Depp called, and said he had just two words for the budding lovebirds: “Wino Forever.”
