George isn’t sorry

Well, there you have it. George Clooney is officially not sorry for making a joke about Jack Abramoff during the Golden Globes. As well he shouldn’t be. As well as I’m not sorry for seeing Syriana. Still, Jack’s father was not amused bu the joke and claims that the “glib and ridiculous attack” reduced his granddaughter to tears. TEARS, people! George Clooney caused TEARS. As if Jack himself couldn’t do that to his own spawn. Can you dig it? I knew that you could.

The Olsen Twins are coming back

Damn, and I liked the world more without having to have those two force-fed into my system every day. Oh well, Mary Kate and Ashley will soon be appearing in ads for fashion gurus Badgley Mischka. B&M themselves state that:

“Ashley and Mary-Kate have grown up to become America’s young style icons. They have an amazing sense of fashion and individuality that intrigued us.”

Sure, I guess if selling your shit in Wal-Mart makes you a young style icon, more power to ya. Still, poor old Mary-Kate will be taking some time away from school due to her ongoing sadness from Paris Hilton stealing her boyfriend, and, well, just not enjoying homework.

“I need to be able to go to yoga and work out and just read scripts and go on auditions, because that’s what makes me happy…Like, papers don’t really make me happy,” sez Mary-Kate.

Like wow, man. Not being a celebrity is soooooo unhappy.

Do you smell what The Rock is killin’?

LIGHTEN UP GAMERS! At least that’s what Hollywood wants you to do in regards to video game-to-movie adaptations. Hell, some of these dudes have even logged many hours on an Xbox 360 just to be real for you! Does anyone really care? Trying to think of one good game-to-movie flick that was ever any good…nope, I can’t think of a one. Yep, the gamers are in the right. Kepp bitching, lads. And in the meantime, don’t continue to go ahead and waste your money on the shitty adaptations and give these goofs more incentive to keep on keeping on.

Willie Nelson cashes in on gay cowboy craze

Hoping to connect with urban cowboys, metrosexuals, and D-county rodeo stars alike, Willie Nelson has released a song called “Cowboys are Frequently, Secretly (Fond of Each Other).” The song was penned by Texan songwriter Ned Sublette a quarter-century ago, during the peak popularity of that other closeted gay western starring John Travolta, but only recorded by Nelson last year — presumably after catching a glimpse of the way Jake Gyllenhaal filled out his Levi’s.

Available exclusively on iTunes, the song includes lyrics like “Inside every cowboy there’s a lady that would love to slip out.” In Willie’s case, we’re going to assume that lady likes to wear her hair in braids.

It may still not be safe to go into the water…

…but it’s safe to go back into the bookstore, at least. “Jaws” author Peter Benchley has died at the age of 65.

You have to give him credit: he didn’t just try to coast on the success of “Jaws.” Well, not really, anyway. He didn’t exactly go out of his way to leave the sea behind, given that his later work involved novels like “Beast,” about a giant squid, “Creature,” “The Deep,” and, oh, right, “Great White.”

Still, the guy wrote “Jaws.” He deserves every kudo in the world for being directly responsible for scaring the hell out of millions.
