Yay! La Lohan is “back on track to sobriety” after taking a swig of champagne from its bottle on New Year’s Day. According to the report,
“After being handed a champagne bottle while on a dance floor in Italy on New Year’s Eve and drinking from it, the good news is that Lindsay immediately stopped, called her sponsor, and got herself back on track,” her attorney, Blair Berk, said Thursday in a statement. “There is no magic cure here.”
So who’s her sponsor? O’Doul’s?
He may not have won any Emmys, and he may not have made the primary ballot in South Carolina this year, but Stephen Colbert was chosen as the AP’s Celebrity of the Year. He topped out over #2 J.K. Rowling and #3 Al Gore. That’s not shabby at all, considering the man is much more entertaining than either of those two.
Said Colbert in response to winning the award,
“In receiving this award, I am pleased that I was chosen over two great spinners of fantasy — J.K. Rowling and Al Gore. It is truly an honor to be named the Associated Press’ Celebrity of the Year. Best of all, this makes me the official front-runner for next year’s Drug-Fueled Downward Spiral of the year. P.S. Look for my baby bump this spring!”
He knows when a good thing is finished and when to move on. Therefore, Sacha Baron Cohen is retiring his two most famous characters, Borat and Ali G. Says Cohen about the retirement,
“When I was being Ali G and Borat I was in character sometimes 14 hours a day and I came to love them, so admitting I am never going to play them again is quite a sad thing.”
Undoubtedly Baron Cohen will continue to create characters and ideas that will keep him in the limelight for many years to come. You can see him currently in “Sweeney Todd” in theatres across the universe.

Am I wrong? Does anyone else remember this? It was a single-season wonder that aired on CBS, and it can’t possibly live up to my memories of it, but I really dug it at the time. You can read more about it here, but, basically, the series focused on Drak, Frankie, and Howler, descendants of Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster, and a werewolf (don’t ask me how the monster managed it), who decided to atone for their ancestors’ wrongdoings and unite as a superhero team called the Drak Pack. I’m sure my unabashed love of the Superfriends at the time had everything to do with why I loved it so much, but, c’mon, if you set aside the whole Frankenstein-spawning-an-heir thing, it’s a really cool concept, y’know?
Now, if someone would just release the live-action series “The Monster Squad” (no relation to the film of the same name), I’d really be happy.
