Rosie on the other end of it

What goes around comes around, right? So it would seem. You may recall that Rosie O’Donnell recently got into a scrap with Kelly Ripa over the latter’s reaction when Clay Aiken put his hand over her mouth on TV. Well now O’Donnell is taking flak for mocking spoken Chinese on “The View.” It went a little something like this:

In a Dec. 5 segment, O’Donnell joked about how Danny DeVito’s recent — and seemingly drunken — appearance on the ABC daytime talk show had become international news.

“You know, you can imagine in China it’s like `ching chong, ching chong chong, Danny DeVito, ching chong chong chong, drunk, “The View,” ching chong,'” the 44-year-old comedian said.

Apparently this did not go over well. When informed of this, O’Donnell replied,

“To say ching chong to someone is very offensive, and some Asian people have told me it’s as bad as the n-word. Which I was like, `Really? I didn’t know that.'”

Ah, Rosie, what will you do next? Nothing could be as patently offensive to the brain cells as your performance in Riding on the Bus with My Sister. Let’s all remember that now, shall we?

Getting busted Gotti

Sweet satisfaction! 16-year-old Frank Agnello was busted on drug charges earlier this month. Agnello starred in the reality series “Growing Up Gotti” along with his mother and brothers. Frankie had pot, Oxycontin and Morphine in his car when police pulled him over for failing to stop at a stop sign. He was also driving without a licence. That kid always looked like trouble to me. Now we know he’s in the same pill poppin’ league as Rush Limbaugh.

Kramer isn’t alone

Think of this as a parenthetical piece about all the hooplah regarding Michael Richards’ racist tirade during a recent standup show. Sadly, too many people in this nation are truly racist scumbags (whether or not Richards is, I couldn’t care less about really). I was just perusing the story about the groom and his friends who were gunned down by NYC police for whatever reasons over at Yahoo news. The story is disturbing enough, but one look at the story’s message board, and you get to see a whole lot of sad people come out of the woodwork. The point is, Michael Richards gets all the exposure since he’s famous, but there’s far too many regular folks out there seriously spewing the same kinda crap day in and day out. Have we really advanced as far as we like to think?
