Bravo – part of the Universal family – is going out of its way to make the most of what was one of the coolest parts of the late, great network known as Trio: it’s created BrilliantButCancelled.com.

Yeah, we know, we’ve already hyped how they’re releasing the Brilliant But Cancelled series of DVDs, but this is something different. On BrilliantButCancelled.com, they’ll be streaming programs that aren’t scheduled for DVD release…and one of those is “The Jake Effect,” a sitcom starring Jason Bateman and the total fox known as Nikki Cox.

The funny thing about “The Jake Effect” is that it was put on the schedule for 2003, seven episodes were filmed…and, yet, it was yanked before a single episode ever aired. This panned out nicely for Bateman, of course, because it put him in the perfect position to take on “Arrested Development”…and, actually, it turned out fine for Cox, too, since she ended up on “Las Vegas” as a result. Now, you’ll get the chance to see these episodes online…and see if you missed out on anything. Plus, if you can’t be bothered to turn on your computer, Bravo will do a one-shot airing of the episodes on May 25th.

Now, if we could just get someone to release or re-show Bateman’s 1984 show, “It’s Your Move.”
