In an exclusive interview with “Good Morning America,” Anna Nicole’s mama, Virgie Arthur, said she thinks Anna Nicole had too many drugs.
Actually, I’m not mocking Ms. Arthur’s statement; I’m mocking the fact that the ABC News website is using the line as the headline to the article that summarizes the interview. Seriously, this is the exact headline:
‘I Think She Had Too Many Drugs,’ Says Anna Nicole’s Mom
Um, well, yeah, given that she’s dead and that just about everyone quite reasonably suspects that drugs were the cause, I’d say that’s a fair assessment…but why not use something more like, say, “Anna Nicole’s Mother Suspects Drugs In Daughter’s Death”? Why take a comment from a grieving mother and make her look like an idiot…? (And no jokes, please, about how her daughter wasn’t exactly firing on thrusters and that maybe it was genetic.)
