I’ve been waiting all weekend for the rumored “X-Men 3” trailer to hit apple.com, and now that I’ve seen it, well, I wish I hadn’t. All of the rumors about director Brett Ratner ruining the “X-Men” franchise is true. And while the movie itself actually looks to be quite entertaining, the steps Ratner took to get there are unforgettable. The most notable new mutants introduced in the third film are Angel (Ben Foster), Beast (Kelsey Grammar) and Juggernaut (Vinnie Jones). And while the former is not only an amazing casting choice but also looks great in character, the latter two just look absolutely ridiculous.
Grammar in-costume as Beast may just be the worst-looking comic character brought to big screen. He looks more like Wolverine on Halloween than the Beast fans of the comics all know and love. And Juggernaut could have been worst if Jones hadn’t managed to pump himself up so big. The guy had to have gained at least 100 pounds of pure muscle for the role (no joke), but the new costume (very different from the all-metal suit he usually wears in the comics) is a joke. It’ll take some serious pause action to get a good look at it, but I can assure you that you won’t like what you see. It’s also curious to note that the title of the film is being rumored as “X3: The Last Stand.” If the movie is as ridiculous as it looks, you can bet it will be the last “X-Men” film in a long time.
