Things have changed quite a bit in Hollywood. There was a time when a film like “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” would have a chance to do some decent numbers at the box office with Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell in the starring roles. I’m not saying it would be a hit, but maybe it wouldn’t be a complete bomb.

Even with the horrible and boring trailer, Margot’s star power alone should have helped to open this film. Yeah, it probably would have been a loser in years past as well, but would it have been this bad?

Margot did her best trying to open this film, hitting the red carpet in her “naked dress” which created a huge buzz. But that wasn’t enough, and this box office performance really calls into question how much juice Margot really has to open a film.

There are so many reasons to love Margot Robbie. She’s one of the most talented actresses of her generation, and she’s also drop-dead gorgeous.

Margot recently made waves on the red carpet at the European premiere of her romantic fantasy film “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” in London, where she debuted what many are calling her most audacious “naked dress” to date. Check out the video above and you’ll see why she’s generating so much buzz.

Unfortunately for Margot, the new film co-starring Colin Farrell may be a dud. The reviews so far are tepid, and it’s projected to do less than $10 million in box office for its opening weekend.

Jennifer Lawrence plays Dominika Egorova, a Russian ballerina whose life is upended after a career-ending injury. Forced into a brutal intelligence training program known as “Sparrow School,” she’s molded into a weapon of seduction and manipulation. It’s a chilling premise, and the film doesn’t shy away from the trauma and violation involved—but Lawrence elevates the material, delivering one of the boldest and most emotionally raw performances of her career.

At 5’9” with a striking, athletic build, Lawrence may not have convinced everyone as a prima ballerina (a role typically reserved for more petite dancers), but once the story shifts into espionage territory, she absolutely commands the screen. Dominika isn’t your typical “femme fatale.” She’s reluctant, emotionally scarred, and constantly calculating her next move. Lawrence captures that complexity perfectly, blending vulnerability with icy resolve.

What makes her performance so powerful is the emotional cost of seduction. Dominika doesn’t wield her sexuality with ease—she uses it because she has to, and Lawrence never lets the audience forget that. Her portrayal is layered, sensual, and often uncomfortable in the best possible way. You’re not watching a fantasy—you’re watching a woman learn to survive a brutal system by turning it against itself.

The film’s deliberate pacing and cerebral tone may not appeal to action junkies, you’ll find a lot to appreciate here. “Red Sparrow” also features strong supporting performances—particularly Joel Edgerton as the CIA operative who develops a complicated relationship with Dominika—and a clever final twist that rewards patient viewers. It’s violent, psychologically intense, and not always an easy watch, but it’s an underrated spy gem that’s worth a watch. Check out the video below or on YouTube.

“The Fall Guy” starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt had its world premiere this past week at the South By Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. This new action film will be released on May 2, 2024 and it generated a ton of buzz at the festival with rave reviews from critics.

The movie is directed by David Leitch, known for action films like “Bullet Train” and “Deadpool 2.” The film combines action with heart and a large dose of comedy. It’s based on the television show from the 80s of the same name with Gosling playing daredevil stuntman named Colt Seavers.

The movie keeps the core concept of a stuntman-bounty hunter and delivers a worthy tribute to the original show starring Lee Majors and the beautiful Heather Thomas.

After the premiere, social media sites were flooded with positive reactions as both fans and critics seemed to love the movie. All of this buzz and the reaction of critics has led to a very positive score so far on Rotten Tomatoes.

Overall, “The Fall Guy” seems to be a crowd-pleaser, offering a perfect blend of action, humor, and a behind-the-scenes look at the world of stunts.

It looks like Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt have another massive hit on their hands, and Hollywood can get excited about a summer blockbuster that lives up to the hype.

The enseble cast is brilliant, with Paul Giamatti, Thomas Haden Church, Virginia Madsen and Sandra Oh delivering memorable performances. Haden Church and Madsen recived Oscar nominations though all of them deserved recognition. The film won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay and was nominated for Best Picture while Alexander Payne earned a Best Director nomination.

The film was so influencial that sales of pinot noir spiked in the years following the release of the film. We highly recommend this film.
