The Biggest Loser: did they have to leave us hanging?

Last night NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” left us hanging after two long hours, and for that I’m pissed. You had all that time to kick someone off and this is what you do? And then before you do that, you change the rules AGAIN? This show is really annoying me. Anyway, here is how it went down…

The show began with the contestants at Rocco DiSpirito’s cooking school, and they had to compete by cooking healthy variations on fast food….burgers, Mexican food and pizza. But they had to make those items taste good. The black team won, and their prize was being cooked dinner by Rocco, with the blue team having to clean up after them. Then each member of the black team had to choose fortune cookies and one of them had the prize of an extra vote at the weigh in, and Laura won that.

Then they showed the blue team working out with Bob, but not at the ranch, in a boxing academy with none other than Sugar Ray Leonard. Man, that had to be cool. Sugar Ray taught them his “POWER” technique of competing: “Prepare, Overcome, Win Every Round.”

The Biggest Loser: Revenge Doesn’t Taste Sweet

So last week I said that Amy was making a big, big mistake by not voting Vicky off the ranch on “The Biggest Loser: Families”…..and I was right. Amy voted off Vicky’s husband Brady the week before, and last week, instead of pulling the trigger on kicking off evil Vicky, she plucked Coleen off the ranch.

Last night’s episode began by showing Michelle and Renee, the remaining black team members, commenting that Amy had made a mistake and then trainer Jillian Michaels saying, “Vicky is going to get Amy.” Vicky’s pal Heba agreed, and Vicky even said she still doesn’t trust Amy. Oh, how I wish you would have pulled the trigger last week, Amy.

Anyway, it was an NFL-themed week since it’s the week of Thanksgiving, and the first challenge featured former NFL stars Jerry Rice and Steve Young Read the rest of this entry »

The Biggest Loser: Gambling Doesn’t Pay

Last night’s episode of “The Biggest Loser” began with trainers Bob and Jillian talking about how Week 2 is historically a “plateau” week on the show, and that the average contestant loses just 2 % of their weight the second week as their bodies adjust to the sudden change in lifestyle.

With that, host Alison Sweeney brought the teams together and each had a colored ping pong paddle to match their team color. Alison offered $10,000 to anyone who gambled that they could lose a certain percentage of weight, but it was done auction-style….meaning one team bid 1 %, the next 1.2 % etc. It went all the way up to 2.4% for the yellow team of Colleen and Jerry. So, if they were able to lose that percentage, or 14 pounds between them, they would win 10 grand. If not, they would automatically be below the yellow line this week. They were fired up, but their trainer Jillian was pissed. She knows the plateau all too well, and she vowed to work Colleen extra hard (Jerry still has to limit his activity for health reasons).

Then came the challenge, which was a water slide game. Each team had to slide down a slip and slide Read the rest of this entry »
