5 Movie Star Style Tips for Men

Feel like your style needs something new and fresh? Trust us, many guys have been there and there’s no shame. Honestly, who hasn’t gone through a phase of not caring much about how you dress?

Fortunately, this is easy to address. And with these 5 tips, you’ll practically look like a movie star.

1). Necklaces and Chains

If you’re looking to up your game in the fashion department, a good necklace or chain is a great place to start.
What kind of necklaces and chains look good on men? There’s some room for variation here, and you should think about what overall look you’re going for as well as your personal style in general, but a good hard and fast rule is to avoid over-the-top gaudy trinkets and pendants.

Instead, try a Cuban link chain. They have that mix of classy and cool, elegant without being overstated that will lend you that element of mystery and attractiveness.

This may also be the perfect accessory to wear to a screening of a poker movie.

2). Wristwatch

These days everyone uses their smartphones to check the time. If you want to stand out in the fashion department, pick up a wristwatch.

Believe it or not, wristwatches are one of the best accessories for a man to pick up: they have that “retro” aspect because so many people don’t bother with them anymore, and at the same time there are many fun and interesting designs.

Try either a minimalistic wristwatch, one that has a simple, plain, elegant design, or a skeleton watch, one that displays the inner workings. Both of these are stylish and quite fashionable.

3). T-shirts

What kind of t-shirts do you wear? Here’s an important tip: the answer should be solid, one-color t-shirts and/or striped t-shirts. You can have light and dark colors, but make sure to ditch the graphic t-shirts if you haven’t already – no one wants to see graphic t-shirts on men, and wearing them will make you look immature.

Part of the beauty of solid t-shirts is that they are subtle and understated. You can wear them with a variety of different outfits. Try dark- and light-colored t-shirts with different layers over them, and see how the t-shirt serves as an accent and which you prefer, dark or light.

Striped t-shirts can also serve in the same fashion. Particularly at warmer times of the year you might also wear a button-down shirt open-fronted, or with some of the buttons unbuttoned, to show off the pattern.

4). Jeans and Other Pants

Blue jeans are the fashion hit that won’t quit, but are they overrated? The answer, believe it or not, is no, they’re great – but you’ll want to make sure you choose the right fit and avoid any fashion snafus. At the same time, jeans are great but not the only worthwhile pants.

When you go shopping for jeans, look for pairs that fit well on you and that do not attract attention for the wrong reason.

Let’s cover a few basic fashion snafus to avoid:

• No sagging: no one wants to see your posterior, and it looks sloppy and uncouth.
• Similarly, no baggy jeans. If they can’t stay up without a belt or they are too wide around the ankles, find a pair that fit you.
• No embellishments: no rips, tears, excessive distress, or bleaching.
• Absolutely no large logos on your derriere or anywhere else.

Our goal here is for you to look like a mature, stylish man who will impress women and men both. Avoid the above faux pas and find the fit that works for you.

Additionally, go beyond jeans. Many men do not consider the wonders of a good pair of chinos. Get a camel or grey pair of chinos, and see how it changes up your wardrobe. Once-familiar outfits will now look refreshingly different when worn with grey or camel chinos instead of blue jeans.

5). Shoes

This is one thing many men overlook, but a scruffy pair of sneakers can instantly ruin even a very nice outfit. Women in particular will notice a man’s shoes, so if this is a concern of yours, consider yourself advised: invest in a decent pair of footwear.

Fortunately, this is an easy thing to address. All you need is a decent pair of brown leather shoes. That’s it: one pair of brown leather shoes to wear when you’re out on the town, and you’ll look much better no matter what else you’re wearing.

Leather shoes also aren’t your only option here. Try desert boots if you want to spice it up.

If you’re looking to look better, it doesn’t have to be difficult or even all that expensive. With a little careful planning, you can look movie star sharp and have a variety of outfits to choose from. Good luck!
