Up and Coming Hollywood Stars to Watch In 2018

With the summer blockbuster season starting to wind down and studio attention turning toward the Autumn and Christmas schedule, now seems like a good time for a brief recap of some of the exciting new talent to have emerged over the last year.

Tom Holland

At the tender age of 21, English-born Tom Holland has managed to land a lucrative multi-picture deal to play the role of Spiderman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is the third actor to take on the role this millennium (the other two being Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield). Holland won favorable critical reviews for his performances in Captain America: Civil War, and Spiderman: Homecoming. Next year, he is set to start in the latest installment in The Avengers franchise. He has won numerous awards in his short (five-year) career and has appeared on stage in Billy Elliot The Musical and in the TV adaptation of Wolf Hall, both of which drew critical praise.

Natalia Dyer

Natalia’s breakout role when she was cast as the part of Nancy Wheeler in Netflix’s Stranger Things, a role she is set to reprise in season two later this year. She began acting at just 12 years old and, if you squint, you might be able to recognize her in her first role in Hannah Montana: The Movie. She has also appeared on television, with a role in the sci-fi drama After Darkness and has several children’s films under her belt, as well as Hannah Montana, including I Believe In Unicorns.

Tyler Perez

Tyler is one of the alumni from Michael David Palance’s Premiere Program, which is scouting for new talent in Hollywood to set them up with the right people to kick start their career. He is perhaps best known for appearing in television adaptations of From Dusk Till Dawn and Scream: The TV Series.

Ellie Bamber

Ellie Bamber is an actress from the south of England and holds the distinction of being the youngest ever member of The London Player’s Theatre. Her acting career began on the stage with her live performance work culminating in her role as Young Jenny in Trevor Nunn’s Aspects of Love. Soon after she managed to crack the world of television and, soon after, film and took her first Hollywood role as Lydia Bennett in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Ezra Miller

Ezra Miller is only 23 years old but already boasts several noteworthy roles. He is perhaps best known to most audiences for his starring role in We Need To Talk About Kevin, where he gave a performance with depth well ahead of his years. He followed this up with a starring role in another popular book adaptation; The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. His most recent appearance was in Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, a spinoff set in the Harry Potter Universe, and next year he will reprise his role as The Flash in the DC Cinematic Universe, in a standalone film for the character.

These are just some of the exciting new actors emerging in Hollywood, where every new film that is released is a new opportunity to discover the stars of tomorrow.
