After “The Wolf of Wall Street” release, DiCaprio admitted in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that he had never done drugs in his life. According to Leo, he grew up in a poor neighborhood and saw what drugs did to people. That’s why he was never tempted to try them. For a role in “The Wolf of Wall Street,” he consulted drug experts to make the scenes look believable.
2) He sponsors a little South African girl
During the shooting of “Blood Diamond,” DiCaprio worked with 24 kids from the orphanage in Maputo, Mozambique. He was so touched by interacting with these children that even after leaving the country, he kept in touch with one of them. He sends her money every month and calls regularly.
3) He is not used to wasting money

4) He has his own coffee brand
Leonardo DiCaprio signed up with La Colombe Torrefaction, a company that specializes in coffee roasting, to finance a number of environmental projects. 5) DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg couldn’t stand each other
In 2013, Mark Wahlberg’s fans discovered that he could fail to get a role in the 1995 movie “The Basketball Diaries.” When Leonardo DiCaprio found out that he had to work with Wahlberg, he refused to play in the same scenes with him. As a result, the producers hardly persuaded the two actors to collaborate.
6) DiCaprio and sharks
In 2006, Leonardo was diving in Cape Town, South Africa, when he came face to face with a white shark. Since then, Leo is afraid of sharks. The actor was on the verge of death one more time when during the jump from the plane, his parachute didn’t open. Fortunately, the instructor was close enough to save him.
7) He speaks German fluently
DiCaprio’s mother was born in Germany, and when Leo was a kid, she taught him to speak her native language. DiCaprio’s parents divorced, so he was brought up by his mother and grandmother.
8) He is constantly engaged in charity
Leo is a philanthropist. In 2013 alone he donated millions to different purposes. The actor held an auction to sell the works of art, which raised $31,7 million. All this money went to charity. He also donated $61,000 to support gay rights and $3 million to save tigers in Nepal. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

10) He has never been married
Leo had so many beautiful women and dated a lot of VIP brides throughout his career. That’s why it seems amazing that he has never been married. He himself says that he wants children but would probably never marry.
11) He could change his name to Lenny Williams
When Leonardo was 10, his agent advised him to change his name to Lenny Williams to get more roles. As the agent said, the name of the young actor sounded too “ethnically.”
