“Rome” feature film coming soon?
In an interview with MovieWeb.com, Ray Stevenson (who played Titus Pullo on the HBO series) confirms that a feature-length script is in full development.
Is the Rome movie still moving ahead?
Ray Stevenson: Apparently so. It is no longer a smoke and mirrors rumor. The script is in full development. As you are probably aware, this is a pretty strange process. We could go into production in a year, or it could be as quick as six months. Who knows? It will happen. At least it is no longer a rumor. From what I have heard, they are nearing the end of script development. We shall see. We shall see.
The second half of the second season of “Rome” was quite rushed, so I’m sure there is plenty of story to cover. This is obviously great news for fans of the series and a good reason for neophytes to pick up the DVD sets to get caught up.

This interview is getting picked up all over the net today, but it’s from last March. It would certainly be nice to find something more current, but Bruno Heller doesn’t seems to be talking yet, nor anyone close to him.
I’m sorry, but every time I see a shot of Kevin McKidd from the series, I always think, “Hey, cool, Dan Vasser has journeyed WAY back this time!” But, then, I never watched “Rome,” so I only really know him from “Journeyman.”
You missed out, Will. Even though I agree that the last season felt very rushed, “Rome” was awesome, and I’d love to see a feature film.
I liked “Journeyman” about as much as I liked “Rome,” so either character works for me. It bugs me to see McKidd on “Grey’s Anatomy,” though. He’s better than that!
Great series. I movie would be great. Titus Pullo in particular was a great character.
please make an effort to somewhat bring veronus into the picture…. ROME is awesome …. and it will suck without him…….. but overall i am excited for the movie,… GO Pullo
Rome I & II was so brilliantly written, produced, shot and acted that I felt it was by itself a single 20 hours long feature movie…
I agree rome was excellent and really got you involved in it you felt part of it by the end and thats what films and series should do, i hope they get all the characters to be honest they all added something different to rome
