Hell’s Kitchen: It’s getting catty in here

Last night on “Hell’s Kitchen,” the red team began bickering more than ever, with Andrea and Carol really going at it. This usually leads to a lack of teamwork, which is exactly what happened. Anyway, the show began with the teams learning that they would face off for a Bar Mitzvah dinner service. Ben kept going off about how he was Jewish and he would help his team win and that these were “his people.” Ugh…easy, dude. Anyway, the kid, Max, was there with his mom and grandma, and the teams had to make fine dining versions of Max’s favorite foods–hamburger, chicken soup and brisket.

The blue team won the soup challenge, thanks to Giovanni; the red team won the brisket challenge thanks to L.A.; and the blue team won the burger part, with Robert using a simple Kobe beef burger over Carol’s blue-cheese infested foo-foo burger. Come on Carol, it’s a 12 year old kid! So the blue team won a day of pampering at a spa, and we saw way too much skin, including the many folds of Lacey and part of Robert’s butt crack…..really now, was that necessary? Meanwhile, the red team had to set the dining room up for the Bar Mitzvah celebration later that day. Also, the party planner, Francisco, showed up and annoyed Jean Phillippe, and the two of them engaged in some incredibly fake reality show acting.

At the dinner service, everyone was having trouble…Andrea with the risotto, J with the salads, Coi with the burgers, Danny with the messy plates, Lacey with the burgers…and there was a general lack of communication, leading at one point to Carol threatening to punch Andrea “in the throat.” Yikes. Don’t get excited, you catfight fans, they are not the most attractive women you’ll ever see.

After the Harlem Globetrotters made an appearance, which was awesome, Gordon Ramsay declared it a successful service, but that the blue team did a better job and were more consistent throughout the dinner. He asked Andrea, who he claimed was the best of the worst, to nominate two teammates for elimination. This pissed off her teammates, because many of them thought Andrea should be on the chopping block herself. Even Andrea was having trouble choosing nominees, and she would up picking Coi and L.A. Coi then said that Andrea was not the best of the worst and should have nominated herself. Ramsay asked the other girls for their input, and all of them agreed with Coi, except Paula, who said Coi was the worst. With that, Ramsay sent Coi packing, after remembering how she couldn’t properly cook a basic burger that night.

This infighting between Andrea and Carol is only going to get worse as we move along here, because if they can’t work together, their team will keep losing and everyone will get more agitated. Meanwhile, the blue team is working together nicely, even with Lacey on their side. But who knows how long that will last. See you all next week….
