She really surprised me with the vocal impression, which I wasn’t really expecting. It wasn’t quite Kevin Spacey doing Christopher Walken, but she definitely had fun with Palin’s inflection and nasal delivery. As an ardent Obama supporter, I had fallen slightly out-of-love with her over that “b*tch is the new black” evening, but now that’s all doubly forgiven — and Amy Poehler wasn’t bad either. Isn’t unity swell?
I’m assuming this would now be considered bad form since Al Franken is running for the senate, but the writing also had that old Al Franken & Jim Downey feeling to it. Fey & Downey, maybe?
