  Tim and Eric are actually pretty smart dudes, but their brand of comedy is so mind-numbingly retarded that it’s no surprise their shows keeping getting cancelled.

  Retarded? Please. Their shows don’t get cancelled. As far as I know, they quit working on Tom Goes To The Mayor of their own accord to work on “Awesome Show.” They just got picked up for 30 more episodes, too, so I don’t get where the “cancelled” it is coming in to play.

  Ah, and I personally would have given the Tom DVD 4 stars easily and a full write up, rather than just relegating it to a 2 star QT, but that’s just me.

  I’m not a hardcore hater. They definitely have a unique sense of humor (and I applaud them for it), but more often than not, they just don’t do it for me.

  Nah man, I understand. They’re definitely an act that splits people down the middle more or less. I know plenty of people that didn’t like Tom Goes To The Mayor, and originally I wasn’t big on it, but then Awesome Show gave me a fresh perspective on their humor and so I went back and enjoyed Tom more, though I think Awesome Show is tons better.

  For me, the show and Tim and Eric in general just remind me of the kind of goofy stuff my friends and I would come up with when we were back in our high school/college days and shoot video of. We were always into that kind of bizarre non-sequitur kind of stuff, and watching Awesome Show just has always made me felt that was exactly the kind of stuff we would have been doing had we had better equipment and money. To that end, it’s just nice to see the guys making a show that is truly theirs with zero outside influences (corporately speaking) and hoo ha and making a living at it.
